Lee&#8217;s <a href="http://alsolikelife.com/shooting/" target="_blank">awe-inspiring critical video essays</a> were permanently deleted from YouTube for charges of copyright infringement. Let&#8217;s hope the nightmare scenario above can be avoided&#8230;</p>
<p>It&#8217;s frustrating: YouTube chooses to act conservative in a playing field that&#8217;s out-and-out progressive. They&#8217;re driving with the brakes on. Forward-thinking brought them where they are today and I don&#8217;t believe this new taking-down policy will do their business any good. It goes against everything that made the platform popular in the first place and, in the end, modern consumers will go wherever they get more freedom.</p>

(Personally, I prefer <a href="http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=NbwpgyRUv5g" target="_blank">Hitchcock&#8217;s Ninja Cat</a>&#8211;but hey, that&#8217;s just me.)</p>
