I keep hoping for Scott to deliver something truly brilliant (MATCHSTICK MEN was pretty classy, I think). That's why seeing A GOOD YEAR pissed me off as much as it did. Russell Crowe is not known for being *droll*--indeed! Actually, Ridley Scott has not made a good movie in two decades. Jane</i> and <i>Hannibal</i> are among the worst movies ever made by a reputable director, and <i>Gladiator</i> and <i>Kingdom of Heaven</i> seem tome only marginally better. And this new one sounds, well, pretty horrible.Well, I'll try to keep an open mind, but truthfully, the promise of a Ridley Scott film just doesn't hold much magic for me anymore.
