Welcome everybody! So glad to see you all here!

Maya: The strikeouts made you chuckle? You mean... I didn't actually delete those words? ;)

Syb: I'd love to have coffee with Ridley - or tea, for that matter -, but I figured there was a pretty small chance of him inviting me anyway... I keep hoping for Scott to deliver something truly brilliant (MATCHSTICK MEN was pretty classy, I think). That's why seeing A GOOD YEAR pissed me off as much as it did. It's really not my intention to make a habit of writing bad reviews, but there are limits to what I can take!

Peet: Congratulations on launching your new blogsite. The strikeouts made me chuckle. But what a disappointment to hear Scott's latest is so bad. Like yourself, Blade Runner, Alien, and yes, even Legend, are high on my list of favorites.

Peet, funny and dead-on. Russell Crowe is not known for being *droll*--indeed! Actually, Ridley Scott has not made a good movie in two decades. And despite my admiration for its visual grandeur, I have never really much liked Blade Runner. In fact, I think ALIEN is the only film of his Ive ever really loved.

Yeesh. I've been kind of down on Scott for quite a while now. I think G.I. Jane and Hannibal are among the worst movies ever made by a reputable director, and Gladiator and Kingdom of Heaven seem tome only marginally better. And this new one sounds, well, pretty horrible.Well, I'll try to keep an open mind, but truthfully, the promise of a Ridley Scott film just doesn't hold much magic for me anymore. It's been a long time since Blade Runner....
