Thanks for the confidence, guys. Both of you discovered this blog even before I officially announced it!

Actually, Dennis, with the pretty intense email correspondence I have going, this blog might even save me some time because I'm able to reach more friends at once! That's a wild guess, though... We'll see how it goes.

Just discovered this addition to the blogosphere, Peet. I love your long form work - and I look forward to reading these (relatively) shorter bites.

Peet! Am I the first?! I don't know if I am, but if so, what an honor to be the first commenter on your new blog!! If not, well, it's still an honor to be among the first! This is something I've been hoping you'd do for quite some time now, so what a nice surprise to log on tonight an find it here waiting for me. I look forward to all the insight and fun you're sure to bring to the blogosphere. I'm off to put you on my sidebar right now! And I'm also going to be able to include you in my weekend reading list, which i, because I spent three hours on Jim's Opening Shots last night, going to be published well into the weekend itself. Oh, well, I'm trying to remember the truth of what you said about the blogosphere having no real deadlines (except those we impose on ourselves) and relax a little and not worry about it! The Takashi Miike of blogging is about to take a few days off come Friday, and I've got quite a few things I'd like to get before then, inlcudin a new professoral quiz. But I'm feeling very un-Miike-like right now, so I think it's time to take a few days and recharge in the green pastures of Oregon. I'll try to take some pictures and publish them too. I can't tell you how happy I was to see this blog up and running tonight. Welcome, welcome, welcome!
